Lemmiwinks in Canberra hospital

Hi all, I'm Mrs BT Humble, who is out of the country at this time.
I'm just passing on some news about Lemmiwinks, who I think posts
here.  He had a bicycle fall on Saturday that cost him his right
shoulder and right hip.  He had surgery yesterday involving several
large pins in both joints and is now recovering in Canberra hospital,
Woden.

He's not been allowed out of bed yet.  At this stage it looks like
he'll be there for a couple more days, but he's not getting a
consensus from the various surgeons involved.

He's up for three non-load-bearing months; basically even in a couple
of months when he can put weight on his leg he won't be able to walk,
and with the shoulder out too he won't be able to use crutches.  When
he gets home he'll be house-bound for some time. You probably get what
this means for his cycling, and how he's going to feel about that.

He's in ward 9B, doesn't have a phone, and has to keep his mobile
turned off.  He's quickly running out things to do so he'd definitely
be up for visits from locals and any news from anywhere.

You might be able to sms him; Ms L takes his phone out and checks it
occasionally, or if you want to send him a message post here and I'll
get it through to him.
