Eh, there are assholes everywhere.  Sure, look at California.  How many 
places elect creepy, groping offspring of nazis?  The highway patrol is 
smug, the people are anti-social, and the air sucks thanks to the 
self-absorbed obsession with automobiles.  In other words, there's no 
way hell you can miss the fact that California has more assholes than a 
sphincter inspection center.

It's a stupid debate anyway.  The point is it's obnoxious (though ironic 
because it's *rude*) to go to a forum full of New Yorkers, and then 
complain that New Yorkers are rude.

(Come to think of it, most of the rude people here aren't in New York. 
They're mostly out of the city, and usually in other states.)

To be on topic for a change, the only profession that seems almost 
universally rude in New York nowadays is Subway (formerly token) booth 
clerk.  Did the MTA hand out memos telling them to act like assholes or 
something?
