Indeed! Or, as Peter Ustanov's slave-trader character in "Spartacus"
remarked, "this fellow is made of chalk; as the teeth goes, so follows
the man!"

And you know, I was just thinking this today on the bus on my way to
work (see, I no longer commute by bike): my back is actually fine
during exercise! No ****, it's basically fine while I'm working out,
etc., for hours at a time. But it will eventually fatigue and act up,
and then I'm paying for it when not working out -- which is to say,
the rest of the time!!

So it's a really weird situation where my back is still and I can't
even sneeze without hurting it, that's how ****ed up my back is, but
after adequate warming up, I can actually do physical exercise
involving it with almost no problems at all!

I already do some light casual stretching in between sets (and during
rest stops while cycling)...I guess my problem is that I'm such a
"fanatic" (for example, I totally understand the mindset of the 9/11
hijackers and applaud them their "purity" of will) that I'd never get
out of the gym if I also got serious about stretching, seeing how I
spend two to three hours at a time simply lifting weights -- which is
a reduced work-out from the four or five hour ones I used to have when
incor****ating ellipticals and the treadmill!
