I just got back from the Forest City Velodrome in London. I had been
itching
to go for the past year, but was never able to get the time.
Anyway, I did the Track 1 course Tuesday night and then did about 2 1/2
hours of riding this afternoon in the rec 1 session.
It was a great experience. The Track 1 session was a little slow for me,
since I only got a few actual laps on the track (biggish class), but I
made
up for it today.
All in all, it is blast, and the banks seem really steep at first (50
degrees is actually very steep), but one gets accustomed to it quite
quickly.
The whole thing is run by committed volunteers, so even if a trip is a
luxury item for your budget, you can be assured that your dollars are
going
to a good place. (It is not very expensive in the grand scheme of things).
I
spend most of my extra cash on cycling--the rest I just waste.
