Police are still investigating the death of a 27-year-old woman who was
killed while riding her bike on a designated path Wednesday night.
The woman was northbound, riding in the rain over the Richmond Street
Bridge when a small purple car somehow ended up on the bike path and
struck her, police said Thursday.
"The car struck the cyclist on the bike path," said London Police
spokesperson Const. Brian Armstrong. "It appears as though weather
and speed are going to be a factor."
Police did not identify the woman Thursday and were still investigating
to determine whether charges would be laid against the driver of the
car.
While original re****ts noted police were looking for a driver who fled
the scene, that is not the case, Armstrong said.
"It was not a hit and run," he said.
