Some suggestions on the later part of the route:
* Between mileposts 18 & 19, Hector Road is one way westbound. In either
direction (especially eastbound), she can take the bike path along the
Schuylkill, from the bridge to the Spring Mill train station. Anybody
have a map?
* From West Conshohocken, she'll have climbing on any route! My usual
route starts with a steep mile on PA 23 east (south) to Arrowmink. The
rest isn't very steep: A flat stretch south on Arrowmink to Mt Pleasant,
then east on Mt Pleasant, to south on Harriton to a little bit of Old
Gulph to BM College. Less traffic, no hillier than the long stretch on
Old Gulph.
* Be forewarned that from the intersection of Old Gulph, Old Gulph, New
Gulph and Roberts (I love the description), at the bottom corner of BM
College, there will be a sharp short uphill to finish off the trip.
She'll need directions to get to her friend's dorm.
