for the discussion of building bicycle greenways in the United
States. The
charter below was approved by consensus in us.config on January
31, 2000, in
accordance with the guidelines for newsgroup creation in the us.*
hierarchy.
CHARTER: us.org.bicycle-greenways.nbg
us.org.bicycle-greenways.nbg is an unmoderated newsgroup
for the discussion of the creation of a nationwide network of
coast-to-coast
multi-use recreation and trans****tation bicycle highways in the
United States.
Topics may include, but not be limited to, events staged to draw
awareness to
the National Bicycle Greenway as well as the creation of such
events;
greenway building efforts in the US no matter how large or
small; the location of resources, contacts and other forms
of needed networking. Greenway security, embellishments,
and the protocol required of the many different types of trail
users as well as the procurement of land will all be a part of
this national conversation.
Discussion of bicycles or bicycling or any of the other
people-powered modes of
trans****t such as skates,
skateboards or wheelchairs and their usage would be
off-topic except as they relate to Greenway utilization.
Violations of this charter or the hierarchy rules may be
re****ted to the us.* hierarchy administation, your Internet
Service Provider,
and/or legal authorities in appropriate situations. This applies
especially to
illegal chain letters, forgeries, unauthorized use of registered
domains,
newsgroup "spamming", and/or the constant harassment of other
posters.
This charter and the us.* hierarchy rules will be posted to the
newsgroup at
least twice a month.
